For the past decade, her professional experience has been focused on youth development, HIV prevention, and education justice within the non-profit sector. In recent years, she shifted her focus to leadership development and coaching, aiming to transform the way non-profit organizations cultivate talent for greater reach and impact. She is committed to the feminist ideals of equity and social justice, which drive her belief in the transformative power of education and guide her work practices.
As she embarks on her new role at Funda Wande, she is eager to utilize her experience in designing programs, communications, and strategy development to enhance their impact and mobilize stakeholders to create a better educational experience for children in South Africa.
She has pursued a range of academic interests, obtaining qualifications in Psychology, Gender & Transformation, Public Health, Leadership, and Development from the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University, respectively. The fields of social innovation, entrepreneurship, and coaching have piqued her curiosity, and she looks forward to pursuing these areas in the near future.
The quote by Audre Lorde, "When I dare to be powerful — to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid," resonates with her and inspires her to continue working towards her vision of a more just and equitable society.
