Lona Matuntuta joins the team as our Strategic Partnerships, Communications & Advocacy (SPCA) Administrator, following her time as a Communications & Advocacy Intern with the organisation. With a background in journalism and a passion for meaningful communication, Lona is drawn to the power of language to build trust, spark ideas, and create genuine connections. She values clarity, empathy, and honesty, qualities that continue to shape both her professional work and personal interactions.
Lona holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Rhodes University, where she developed strong skills in storytelling, critical thinking, and media engagement. Her love for storytelling extends beyond her professional work, whether through reading, writing short stories (and occasionally losing them), or curating music playlists that capture a mood or moment.
Outside of work, Lona enjoys exploring different forms of narrative, from binge-worthy series to experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
