Amélie Bellerose joins the team as our Communications & Advocacy Intern. She is passionate about using communication and storytelling to drive social change and innovation, believing in the power of thoughtful narratives to inform, inspire, and connect communities. Honesty, empathy, and accountability are values that guide her work and reflect the principles she believes are at the heart of journalism and effective communication.
Amélie holds a Bachelor of Arts, specialising in Film and Media Production, from the University of Cape Town, and has recently completed a short course in Digital Marketing. Her academic background has equipped her with a strong foundation in visual storytelling, media production, and strategic communication.
Outside of work, she enjoys photography, writing, and reading queer theory. She also draws inspiration from her background in Drama and Performance, as well as her early exposure to advocacy and social justice work. These experiences continue to shape her perspective and approach to storytelling.
Creative, thoughtful, and purpose-driven, Amelie brings a fresh perspective to the team and is committed to using communication as a tool to amplify voices, foster connection, and contribute to meaningful social change.
